Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs the development of company marketing programs.
  • Responsible for assessment of existing and potential markets, campaigns, events and other marketing services, coordination of technical product development, development of product strategies, definition of promotional activities and product launch.
  • Activities may include technical sales support; product advertising/promotion; planning, developing, and implementing multiple chan nel programs; and directing the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s).
  • Provides project leadership and works directly on projects as group or department needs dictate.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Establishes and prioritizes group or department responsibilities and objectives relative to group, department, division, and corporate marketing goals and objectives.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on time following established procedures and schedules.
  • May delegate management responsibilities to a Marketing Manager if required to fulfill responsibilities/objectives of functional area.
  • Provides project leadership and works directly on projects as group or department needs dictate.
  • Identifies current practices and emerging trends in area of marketing functional expertise.
  • Exercises independent judgment in marketing project development, implementation, and support.
  • Involves upper management in major decisions.
  • Communicates and/or presents group or department activities to SAS employees, customers, prospective customers, alliance partners, and industry analysts, as required.
  • Performs all functions related to supervising employees including: determining resource needs and making requests for personnel, equipment, and other resources; recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new employees.
  • Sets and communicates performance standards and provides performance feedback.
  • Encourages and fosters skill development and professional growth.
  • Advises managers on supervising employees.

Competências e experiência desejadas

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques, channels, business partner relationship development strategies, and/or knowledge of a specific industry, market, technology, or business initiative related to area of assignment
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Public speaking experience

Experience

 

Typically requires twelve years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Consulting or related function in the technology industry, preferably in product marketing and at least two years of management experience.
