• The role will be responsible for the effective and efficient finance operation and statutory reporting of the Corporate Solutions entities in Brazil
• The role will implement all financial processes (including IT platforms), tax policies and other workflows in alignment with regulatory requirements; end to end approach

– Manage and coordinate the local finance team and oversee the performance of key tasks relating to the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing in accordance with Swiss Re Group and local entities financial closing procedures
– Attract and develop talent and establish a performance culture management of allocated statutory, EVM & US GAAP legal entity balance sheet(s)
– Responsible for keeping statutory capital within the target capital limits, as defined by the Swiss Re Legal Entity capitalization policy, in coordination with the Corporate Solutions Regional Capital & Liquidity Manager
– Responsible for delivery of capital repatriations (via dividends or repayment of debt), as approved as part of the annual planning process
– Support of external reporting, internal valuation reporting, rating agency communication and investor relations
– Management of local legal entities structure
– Coordinate with Group Taxes to ensure tax planning for the benefit of Corporate Solutions and the Group is managed appropriately, compliance is completed timely and accurately, audits are addressed and current, tax risk is managed and the financial tax balances are accurate

Business Partnering
– Drive the legal entity strategic planning process in concert with the Corporate Solutions Latin America CFO
– Ensure that strategic business decisions are taken on sound financial analysis
– Support the business in identification and implementation of growth initiatives for financial matters
– Ensure adequate cost controlling over the assigned units
– Provide adequate financial advice on request on all type of financial matters and their impact on Income Statement and Balance Sheet
– Enable the management units to focus on business creation by ensuring smooth financial processes
– Influence and provides feedback on regulatory changes (e.g. capital) and their possible impact on own legal entities and on possible market opportunities)

Reporting, Compliance & Controlling Activities
– Oversee and manage capital planning, forecasting, investment guidelines with Risk and AM, regulatory compliance, where applicable
– Responsible for accurate US GAAP, Statutory and EVM reporting, including SST submission supporting the Group requirements
– Preparation and delivery of required board reporting (local and global) and obtaining approval from local management and board
– Manage excess capital over target to minimize the capital cost charges included in business performance results
– Business unit contribution to Group targets (must be agreed and documented)
– Capital management progress reporting by business unit on long term incentive goals, split to business unit
– Support review of accounting requirements for structured insurance/reinsurance deals and transactions written by the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions team in the region

Financial Risk Management
– Establish financial procedures and controls in accordance with the Swiss Re Group guidelines
– Ensure that liquidity needs for the assigned legal entities are addressed and assessed on a pre-emptive basis in order to sustain growth and ad hoc payment of large claims
– Manage the cash flow of the assigned legal entities in order to maximize ROI, reducing bank fees, achieving a low rate of gross written premium outstanding
– Monitor the macroeconomic developments for the region specifically towards inflation risk and currency risk
– Assist and support liaison with internal/external auditors, tax advisors and other relevant stakeholders

Competências e experiência desejadas

– Experience applying accounting (STAT/US-GAAP/EVM), regulatory and compliance standards across for Brazilian operations/entities
– 8 years plus of related experience, with (re-) insurance background a must
– Track record in preparing and executing a financial strategic plan to build in financial resilience and accommodate significant growth in business volume
– Proven relationship builder – ability to influence in a complex, cross-functional environment
– Strong knowledge of P&C insurance industry trends and cycles and their impact on products and profitability-known and respected in the industry
– Superior communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to translate business initiatives into the clear, consistent, systematic finance strategies
– Demonstrates expertise as a change agent, both culturally and functionally
– Knowledge of insurance business is a prerequisite
– Brazilian Certified Public Accountant or similar qualification
– Fluent in English and Portuguese (Spanish is a plus)
