Reporting to and partnering with the LatAm Chief Financial Officer and Executive Directors, the chief financial officer will set financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization’s overall strategy. S/he will lead all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will work closely with a motivated and engaged finance and governance committee of the board of directors.

The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a medium company or division of a large corporation.

Fluent Spoken and Writen English Skills.

Spanish Skills as a plus.

IT / Telecomunication Companies Experience.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Strategy

Partner with senior management team on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to base on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, revenue/expense analysis.

Develop financial and tax strategies.

Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team.

Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with strategic plan.

Engage senior management team of development to align financial management with short- and long-term financial planning and projections.

Engage the senior management team around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model and operational delivery.

Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.

Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction.

Financial and Operational Management

Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present operational metrics both internally and externally.

Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitor the use of all funds.

Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for funding organizations and board of directors; prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial statements.

Manage cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.

Coordinate all audit activities.

Evaluate and oversee all benefits negotiations.

Review all formal finance related procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and managing the systems going forward.

Maintain banking and third parties relationships.

Represent the company with bankers and investors.

Risk Management

Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.

Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.

Construct and monitor reliable control systems.

Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.

Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors.

Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.

People Management

Develop and manage direct staff,

Engage other members of the senior management team for research, evaluation, and training; to facilitate cross-department collaboration that ensures that all financial solutions positively support evolving strategy, operational delivery, and data collection needs.

Provide guidance on attracting and developing key team members.

Attributes:

Mature and proactive, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner to the chief executive of a multi-state and network-based entity.

Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.

Skill in examining, developing, reengineering, and recommending financial policies and procedures.

Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.

A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning.

A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.

Strong commitment to developing team members.
